Your skin

Dry or dehydrated skin

Skin that feels tight, flakes, or is rough to the touch needs its barrier rebuilt, not simply more cream. The difference between dry skin, which lacks oils, and dehydrated skin, which lacks water, is settled by the assessment in the suite, not by the product you buy on your own.

Dry or dehydrated skin

What can cause it

  • Too few lipids in the barrier (dry skin) or too little water (dehydrated skin)
  • Dry air, central heating or air conditioning
  • Cleansing so harsh it strips the skin's protective film
  • Not enough water, or a hydration routine that does not suit you

What to expect from the assessment

The first thing we do is tell apart whether your skin is dry, dehydrated, or both. They are two different conditions calling for different actives, and it is almost impossible to work out on your own at home.

Treatments often suited to this condition

This is only a place to start: it is the consultation with your skin therapist that will point to the treatment best suited to your face.
